"Khadeeja is a talented beta reader. At first when I saw she wrote a 23 page report for me I was thinking "oh no what did I do wrong?" But it was the opposite. What I loved so much is her putting her overall book review first, because in my opinion, that's the most important. For me, I want to know right away if a reader enjoys the story or not. The fact she wrote this first made me excited to read the rest of her report and it made me feel energized to edit instead of discouraged. 

 

I really enjoyed how her notes were so organized. My outline was less organized than her notes! She went into detail about everything; characters, plot, writing style, emotional responses, POV, etc. She was constructive, but she made sure to put so much positive feedback and went into heavy detail to make sure I understood exactly what she was talking about and what she thought worked well and what didn't. She put in-line comments on every page and it wasn't two word sentences.

 

She went into detail in the comments. I have never seen a beta reader write so much feedback! She is well worth the price. I loved how she explained everything instead of just saying "this didn't work for me." She put why. I also really enjoy her commentary style. She puts her emotions and thoughts which made it so much easier for me to understand how a reader would react to my story. A lot of the comments made me smile, laugh or say "yes! I accomplished what I set out to do!" Even when she didn't like how a character acted. I knew exactly where to edit and what to keep. She was also so professional and communicated with me throughout the entire process, giving me updates, and making sure I received documents. She is also fast, giving me detailed feedback on a 135,000 story in two weeks. 

She is on my rehire list for sure. I loved her organization, detail, and I can tell she enjoys reading and her job as a beta reader. Hire her because she is worth it. -Kay
